I thank the Lord for my years at Grace Lutheran. The youth group and TEC experiences I had during my teenage years helped to open my mind and heart to God's calling to ordained ministry. After attending Lenior-Rhyne College and NCSU, I headed for Southern Seminary. There God blessed me through my marriage to Cynthia (Kuehnert) Bowen, a middle school English teacher. We served the ELCA in our first call in Lake Nebagamon, WI. Here we have learned that being open to God's calling can take you to places you never imagined. We are now serving at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2002, God added to our family with our first child who we named Carolina Michelle. In 2005, we were blessed with our second daughter, Courtney Claire. I remember Grace in my prayers and give thanks to God for all the faithful who helped form me as a disciple there.
