Dear Sisters in Christ,

Here's wishing you all a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year. The blessings of Christmas have left us in the best frame of mind possible for pursuing our chosen ministries with enthusiastic purpose, so do not let the spirit fade without passing it on. Our last 2011 meeting was December 13th, and we devoted the better part of it to our favorite Christmas project, making baskets for PLM-FT members and shut-ins. We put together 34 baskets in all; 15 were to go to PLM-FT and 19 to staff and our infirm parishioners. Delivery was taken care of by volunteers from the group.

We have some neat programs lined up for the next three meetings of WELCA. In January, on the 10th, we will learn about "Epiphany", and, hopefully, use the lessons learned in our own lives. On February 14th, "Care of Creation on the Cheap" is on the docket, and I confess to an overwhelming curiosity about this one. March 13th will bring an interesting report on a new ministry undertaken by a member of our group. It is called "TORCH" and involves the children of imprisoned convicts. Wow! Come on out and join us for an hour and a half; we are very friendly, and refreshments are delicious!

Yours in Christ

Jean Gerald
